It is a bit of a mystery as the West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar to its significance. They often believe it's an island located west of Montreal, but the West Island encompasses everything between the two cities in Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel's birthplace is frequently mentioned, but her brief stay was not. Brugel was a young woman in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. Early ambitions were to become an expert dancer. However, a growth spurt caused her to outgrow every dance partner she had. In an article from The Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6'1 inch. The moment I outgrew my male counterpart and stopped dancing, I quit. Brugel was one of many former dancers that turned to acting. Her high school teacher school was the one who pushed her into the right direction. The teacher encouraged her to take part in an audition in a school production. Following a trial, she ended up as the main character for Anne of Green Gables. It was the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she was a theatre student and earned an undergraduate degree in Fine Arts in the year 2000. In the past 20 years, Brugel's work has been seen on both the small and big screen.
